My research on the magnetism project in the Dunbar group focuses on cyanometallate chemistry of paramagnetic 4d and 5d metals with the goal being to engender anisotropic exchange in polynuclear single molecule magnets. This approach to SMMs is a new direction and is predicted to ultimately lead to high barriers for reversal of the magnetization.
